Hi, I’m Ricardo, I’m from Honduras. As a specialist in financial education, I have worked supporting migrants and internally displaced people in my country, so supporting the children of this beautiful place in Guatemala combines my passions, which are hiking and creating awareness and social change in our region.
I believe that EDELAC brings real change to the community, so I feel grateful to be able to help.

Hola! I’m Conrad from England. A while ago I quit my job and started travelling down the continent of America. I wanted to stop somewhere, get to know a place, and find a worthwhile project to dedicate my time to, and with Quetzaltrekkers I found all of that and more! I still can’t quite believe that I can spend my days on one of my passions (hiking), meet amazing people, and help raise money for such a worthwhile cause with EDELAC all at the same time.
Aside from getting out into nature, my passions include sport of pretty much any kind, history, literature and a proper cup of tea. Looking forward to seeing you out here soon!

Hey, hi, hola! I’m Amanda from the United States. When I decided to take a hiatus from my 9-5, Quetzaltrekkers was the perfect escape that filled my cup by being in nature while supporting an important cause. Growing up in the mountains, I’ve always been passionate about helping others experience the benefits of the outdoors, in both big and small ways! When I’m not hiking, you can find me laying low in a cafe with a good book, cooking something overly complex, or embarking on my next adventure somewhere in the world.
Can’t wait to see you out on the trails with us!

Hello, I’m Alex, from the UK. Having just finished university and not knowing what to do, I came back to QT for a second go, having liked it so much the first time. I like nature, avocados, trivia nights and doing daft accents.
I am very happy to be here supporting Edelac. Looking forward to hiking with you !

¡Hola! I’m John from Australia, although I’m not often found there. After years of volunteering as a comms mentor in developing nations and decades of mountaineering on seven continents, QT has given me the unexpected opportunity to combine these skills for a truly
worthy cause. Being able to skew the usual guide demographics with some boomer energy is just a bonus.

My name is Fredrik. I am from Norway. My curiosity and willpower got me all the way to Guatemala where my heart is open to new people and new experiences! Being able to guide curious people like myself through spectacular terrain, while supporting the school of EDELAC is an honor!

Hola! Que Tal? My Name is Ash Ordoñez and I’m a first generation Guatemalan American. My parents emigrated from Salcaja, Guatemala to the States in the early 90s. I spent most of my summers as a kid going back to Guatemala to visit family. It wasn’t until I got older that my family trips to Guatemala became adventures involving hiking volcanos and trekking in the cloud forests. My love and appreciation towards Guatemalan people and culture led me to become a guide here at Quetzaltrekkers. I’m very proud to be Guatemalan and I love sharing my beautiful country with people who want to explore its amazing landscapes.

Hi there, I’m Silvia from Switzerland. My love for the outdoor, mountains and nature as well as my passion for volunteering has brought me to this amazing organisation! It is the perfect combination of supporting a change to the community, doing something I love, meeting interesting people like you and last but not least, finding another home in our beautiful world.

Hello, I am Marco, I am from Guatemala and I am a Guide at Quetzaltrekkers. What motivates me is to live life when you go out to the mountain, look at the top, becoming aware of everything at every moment. The important thing is the path you’ve taken and who you share it with the summit will give you the satisfaction of the goal achieved, although the true gift is the experience that life gives us, that is why we must live life as it should.

Buenas! I’m Claire from Scotland. The mountains have forever been my playground! Since my early 20s I have been hopping all over the world exploring this fantastic planet and working in the tourism industry where I get to meet new people and spend my time in the outdoors. When I stumbled upon Quetzaltrekkers, where I could share my skills for a fantastic cause, it was the perfect fit.

Hola! I’m Levi, I grew up hiking and camping in the beautiful nature of Oregon, USA. I’m excited to be in here in Guatemala as a part of the wonderful community of Quetzaltrekkers. I love being outside in any capacity, but while not on trek I can usually be found with a cup of tea and the New York Times Crossword.

Hello everyone, I’m Francesca from Italy!
I’m currently living the adventure of a lifetime, hiking and guiding through the beautiful cloudforests and volcanoes of Guatemala.
I love the outdoors, climbing, baking, reading a good book with a cup of steamy tea and learn new languages (or having a laugh while trying it).
I can’t wait to be your guide, thank you for supporting the kids of EDELAC!

Hola, I’m Yara! Coming from the Netherlands I am amazed by the spectacular mountainous scenery Guatemala has to offer. However, the best part of Quetzaltrekkers is for me the incredible people I get to work with on a daily basis, who are all supporting the kids and the social projects of EDELAC.

Hola, I’m Bryan. I love my work as a coordinator for Quetzaltrekkers here in Xela, and have spent well over a year now in this amazing place. I grew up in Oregon in the USA, but I am so grateful to live and work here in the stunning volcanic highlands, and I really value this organization’s incredible mission. All the relationships I’ve gotten to build here are so important to me, and I can’t imagine a better place to put my background in outdoor education into practice for such a unique nonprofit.
